Our next license acquisition was the lovably lazy Pusheen. I was excited for this, because this licensed allowed us to do a lot of products that we couldn’t do for Hello Kitty.
Since this license is not as well-known as Hello Kitty, we wanted to introduce her using her core pink and lavender brand colors. Pusheen’s clean and minimalist aesthetic made it very easy to create products that were both cute and elevated for our specialty retailers.

I was in charge of selecting the art assets and designing all of the product formats. I also worked with our editing department and the licensor through the approvals process to make sure all of the art was compliant with their rules. They were thrilled with the final results and continue to reorder sold-out product for their online shop.
Working with a new licensor is always a learning experience for all parties, but we formed a great working relationship that opened more doors and retail opportunities in the future.
